Hi,
this is quite a long mail but I hope we can get some ideas=20
on how you reinstall your logging data back in the same version
of LogPlus you have now??=20

I did move my LogPlus to another computer this weekend and it was
not easy.
I have LogPlus 4.7 and as far as I know there were no rescue disks=20
to download on the later versions of 4.x

I started with installing a Demo log which had version 4.09
I entered a couple of qsos to get something in the files.
With an old key file from 1999 I managed to start it with my own call.
Updated to 4.14 to see if that worked.
With 4.2 LogPlus changed the dBase files I think, but found a 4.22 =
update
and had to put new keyfiles into PlusV4 directory.
Maybe I did something wrong then, because I went straight from 4.22
to version 4.7 with an update file.=20
Made Global database indexing and then tried different ways to get my=20
Logbook.dbf into LogPlus.=20
I tried changing logtemp.dbf and logbook.dbf with the new ones but it =
crashed.
I tried with renaming logbook.dbf to logtemp.dbf to get it in but that =
did not work.

After consulting a friend of mine we had to do it like this.
We opened up logbook.dbf in a Dbase editor called RapidFile and saved it =
as an .RPD
file. Then made a copy of the empty logtemp.dbf and named logbook.dbf.
I now had two equal dbase-files, both empty.=20
Then we opened logbook.rpd again and saved it as a true dBase III file =
as=20
a new logtemp.dBf.
Opened LogPlus and went into logging window and there is my log! When =
exiting the
logging window the logbook gets updated with the 45000 qsos.

There seems to be a difference in the dBase file structure because I had =
to go via Rapid File.

I think this is of very great interest by many, to know how to get it =
all back, either in a new computer
or back in a new hard disk after a crash!
How do you do it?
