Hi Warren et al:
I've been with Logic for about 15 years and I find it to be extremely good
on my old AMD Opteron system running WinXP. Yes, there are bugs - the
Opteron was one of the first dual-core processors - I could not leave the
CPU in dual-core mode without Logic locking up. I had to tell the computer
to boot using a single core. I haven't tried to go back with Logic 9.
Logic 9, to me, did not add significantly to what I already had going with
Logic 8. This is just my take with my operating habits, so I part with
Warren a bit here. For example, I cannot run the map at all - it will lock
up the program. Dennis knows about this and has reproduced the problem on
some older hardware. I would imagine that if I upgraded my shack computer, I
would be fine.
As for other aspects of the program, IMHO, they are exactly the same as in
Logic 8. I would like to see some 'bridge' programs that would link with
other programs such as DX Atlas, flDigi, etc., etc. This way Dennis would
not have to 'reinvent the wheel' if good programs are out there to link to.
I know, I know - some programs can already link - and I have not made an
exhaustive search and find as to which ones can or cannot. Obviously, this
should be well documented in the Help files.
My 0.02.

I've been with logic for 20 years...
LOGIC 9 runs flawlessly for me on a MAC! using the parallels software...
just excellent, and a good improvement over Logic 8...
I have no idea what these guys are talking about... have they called Dennis?
He got on the phone and come in remotely to fix what i'd screwed up ... you
won't find better support, if you take advantage of it.
