[LOGic] Digital modes and LOGic8

Hello All, 
With all the digital mode talk going on, I've decided to see what I'm missing.   I use LOGic 8.0.66 and have a W1GEE interface (mostly for CW contesting). 
 
Can anyone recommend free software that will allow me to start using the digital modes without too much troubleshooting and interfaces easily with LOGic?  I've heard about sound card interfacing but not quite sure how that works.
