Thanks, Ben. I never noticed that option before and, of course, you were
right. It was not checked.

I spotted XT2C at 1340Z after working him on 15M ssb. The spots appeared in
both the DXSummit and DXScape windows within 45 seconds, but have yet to
show up in the Logic8 spot log after 21 minutes. In fact nobody else's posts
about XT2C's 15M ssb operation have appeared in the spot log (and there were
several on both DXSummit and DXScape. They didn't appear even after I
unchecked the "prefilter" option and downloaded from both sites. Anybody
have any ideas why? Also noticed that a number of spots for the same station
from various other stations did not show up either and it has now been over
20 minutes.

Is "show all" checked in the spot log? Otherwise, since he is already in
your log, he would not show assuming your "spot level" has been set to "has
been worked".

I just installed Logic 8 and have come up with a problem. When I run
the spot log (which I would like to do all the time), I'm getting a
high noise level on my FT-920. For example today on 20 meters, without
the spot log window open, my S meter was showing an ambient noise level
of S4. Just opening the spot log caused it to jump up to S7. I put a
ferrite core on the serial cable going to the cat port on the back of
the rig, but that did not make any difference. Also disconnected my
line in and audio out cables going from the computer to rig and it made
no difference. Any thoughts on this?
Question- I also use a FT-100 mainly for 2 meter FM & SSB. I have it
hooked up to logic on Com 2. The only way logic recognizes it is if
TRX-Manager is running also. I really don't want to use TRX-Manager
most of the time but would like logic interfaced as radio 2 with logic
(both radios usable simultaneously). Is running TRX-Manager the only
way Logic will recognize the FT-100 as the second radio on it's own Com
port (the FT-920 uses com 1).

Does this happen all over the band? On other bands? Try changing screen
resolution and see if that makes a difference.
How is TRX setup? Is it configured to use a com port? Possibly, the FT-100
is not set up correctly in Logic and it is using OLE.

the problem is mainly on 20 meters.
The FT-100 is configured in logic to use com 2.

Does it happen across the whole band? How is TRX Manager setup?

A couple of more thoughts on this..
1. If both radios are "connected" to Logic, what purpose does TRX Manager
serve?
2. If you exit both Logic and TRX, then start Logic, does TRX start as well
automatically? If so, then one radio is define in logic as TRX Manager. Even
with a comport defined as well for that radio in Logic it is ignored.
3. When both programs are running and you have TRX's monitoring window up,
what frequency does it read? If it reads the frequency of the FT-100 then
TRX is configured to use that radio.
These will help further understand the problem.
Thanks

I recently did a full recovery on my PC and re-installed all my application
software.
I had a full copy of my Logic8 directory and just copied it to my "clean"
drive, then I installed Logic from the CD on top of that directory.
All works fine except I am wondering if I need to go back and download and
run the Tables Update utility.
Any comments ?
Thanks,
Brad, N8GLS

No, TRX does not start unless I manually open it up.

I'm not using TRX. I just have Logic running and I have Com 2 set up
for the FT-100, Com 1 for the FT-920. The 920 works fine with logic.
