Jim:
Thas was a good idea, and it got my hopes up, but...no joy! :-(
I did download & install the MP filter program (was not aware it existed),
but it could not fine the MP COM port. I recchecked my Device Manager, and
it recognizes the COM port on the PC and says it's working; the other night
I hooked up an old modem to the port, and it too worked, so the evidence is
looking bad the that MP's COm port (CAT) is dead.
Thanks to the VA3CR site you referred me to, there is also info on repairing
the MP CAT port and I am looking into that now.
Thanks for the lead.
