[Logic] LOGIC SERIAL PORT ERROR

Well things are looking mighty dim. This appears to be a hardware problem
with the rig...altho I still cannot fathom why it has suddenly cropped up.
Swapped the serial cable, no joy. Tested the PC COM port by hooking to a
modem and it appeared to work OK Brought the laptop into the shack,
installed LOGIC6, and cabled it to the FT1000MP....no joy! CRAP! It looks
like the CAT (COM) port on the Yaesu is out!
There is no reason for this (rig has been powered off, no antennas) and only
since I installed LOGIC7 is this problem evident. A new corrolary of
Murphy's Law, I guess.
I don't want to rush into sending the rig to Yaesu....does anyone have any
info on replair/replacement of the interal serial interface to FT-1000MP?
Until I can prove the serial interface in the rig is working, I cannot point
my finger at Dennis or LOGIC.
Has anyone successfully repaired the FT1000MP CAT interface?

Thanks Lloyd...At this point I have about 5-6 new variables I need to
explore. Someone came up with the idea of using a non-LOGIC program to talk
to the rig...this is a good idea and I believe I have TRXMGR floating around
somewhere and need to try that. If the FT1000MP serial port is fried I will
be ticked, but that will eliminate all the other grasping at straws.
Will be kind of tied up the next few days but will post my findings as I
have time to address them.
Thanks and 73,
Dan

Hi Dan:
I think I sent my first message to the wrong person. I believe you are
the one having the problem. Sorry about that.
Whenever I have a problem with any program the first place I look is the
registry. Enter a search command for the word "logic" and delete every
entry that looks like it might have something to do with your problem. I
fix
9 out of 10 problems this way. I upgraded from 6 to 7 and have no problem
interfacing my FT1000MP. You might also try searching for "com1"
