Hi Carl,

I don't know what version of Windows you are running but if it is XP you
may be able to find your answer here.  I think it has other versions of 
Windows
on here also.  I see on the right side that is says:  "Prevent Windows 
Messenger
from automatically starting" maybe that will stop it.  Good luck!

I found this on one of Microsoft's web pages.  They call them PowerToys.
I used the one called Clear Type Tuner and it really helped in Windows XP.
It really makes the font easier to read and looks great in all my ham radio
software.  It really helps with Logic 7.  It even makes web pages on the net
easier to read.  Maybe it's just my eyes.  I'm getting old I guess!
