Just to clarify a little... it sets the DEFAULT mode by frequency range...
many digital spots specify the mode... which is important.

But an unspecified mode spot, at 7045 for example, could be just about
anything... so you can't always rely on the spot mode being correct.
Troublesome ranges are 1825-1835, 3600-3700, 7020-7150, 14050-14115 etc... I
think the low end of 40M is the band where it is hardest to "guess" the
mode.
