That about sums it up... though I see no harm in recording all LOtW
matches...

Right now it's all done in "batch" mode... but I believe they will
eventually have an "on-line" update capability... at which point Dennis may
have to implement a queue of pending updates to allow for processing delays
or the link not being available... it's not exactly trivial to do it right.

have been confirmed via card, LoTW, or both and keep a record of each
one that counts toward the award you are interested in obtaining.
