I must be doing something wrong from the tone of these posts. I seem to be
happy with LOGic and with the service I have gotten over the years from
Dennis. Years ago I asked for grid square tracking to be added and sure
enough the next version had it. I have only had a few issues needing
support but every time it was handled in a timely manner. Most of the
problems I have had were minor or my not understanding how to make the
program do what I wanted it to do, which is certainly no fault of the program.
It is funny that this topic would come up as just this morning while
driving in to work I was talking to several members of the local DX club
and they were moaning about DX4WIN not being able to accept the new 60m
contacts and how the authors of that program were not being very
responsive. It took me about 15 seconds to add the new band then restart
the program and start tracking the contacts for 60m. Once again LOGic
proved to me to be the most versatile logging program I have found.
I'm sure there are better programs for certain types of logging, contesting
for example. But as an overall program and being able to track and present
the data numerous ways I don't think you can beat LOGic.
I have been using logic since the DOS version (+/-1988) and I'm currently
using version 5.XXX. I do make it a habit of not upgrading any software the
minute the latest version comes out and this has saved me untold hours
frustration. Which makes me think it is probably time for me to order
version 6.
