[Logic] QSO/Record number or serial number

Hi Art:

Thanks for your note.

A QSO number is one thing, but it is not the same thing as a QSO
count. What happens if you delete a record? Do you then go back and
renumber everything?

The Count feature of the Filter screen IS accurate, and always has
been. The record count at the bottom of the screen is what I was
referring to as not being accurate. It is a count including deleted QSOs.

The only solution is to either go ahead and count all records (as the
Filter form does), or keep a counter somewhere that you increment
when you add a QSO and decrement when you delete one. Or take
take the total record count and subtract the deleted, which would still
require reading the whole file, unless you added the overhead of
another index....

What do you think?

73,

Dennis WN4AZY
