[Logic] Satellite contacts

Ken W9GM,
I have recently worked out a pretty good way to do satellites.
First off, it is non-sense to log a "BAND" on satellites so
I added a N/A entry in the band list. All my SAT contacts are
logged as N/A in the band. Almost all SAT QSO's are cross
band.
The regular mode is logged as SAT. SAT was added to the
modes list. But SAT is an incompete description so I came
up with SAT_MODE. The reason SAT needs to be logged is
so Logic can do awards tracking for satellites.
Next there are two files on the Hosenose FTP site:
SAT_MODE.DBF
SAT_NAME.DBF
These are uploads of my files that log a "SAT_MODE".
Example SAT_MODE mode: JA is analogue 145Mhz up
and 435 Mhz down SSB or CW. Sat_NAME is also
logged all QSL cards should show which SAT is used.
The Name list includes all the major satellites, the more
esoteric SATS can be added.
I designed a SAT logform that put SAT in the mode
automatically and has userfields for SAT_MODE and
SAT_NAME.
I designed a QSL card just for SAT contacts that prints
the above information. I will see if Dennis will put that up
on the FTP site as well.
I'd like to see the ideas you have,
Ken AB5A

Subject: [Logic] Satellite contacts
I am wondering how others have set LOGic up to keep track of Satellite
contacts for DXCC, Grid, and States.
Thanks,
Ken W9GM
