Sorry, no simple way that I know of. Your data has not disappeared
even though you changed the name of the field. To see this, go to
Forms|Log|Userfields. You should see your old field name and field
data in the USERFIELDS box. Okay, get ready for some log surgery
here...
First, backup everyting. Twice.
Go to LOG FIELDS (Tools>Setup>Log Fields...). Find your old field
name. Go to the ADIF panel and make sure there is a name there and
that the import and export boxes are checked.
Then export your whole log into ADIF. Make a backup of this file too,
just in case.
Change the name of the log field in LOG FIELDS. Go to the ADIF panel
and change the name there and make sure that the import box is
checked.
Same goes for LISTS OF VALID VALUES if your old field used the
drop-down capability of LISTS OF VALID VALUES. LOGic 6 has a nice
button called, "RENAME LIST" in LISTS OF VALID VALUES. Very handy for
just this purpose.
Get out your favorite editor, Emacs, vi, whatever you like. Search
and Replace your old field name with your new field name. That is,
for instance, <OLD FIELD:6> becomes <NEW FIELD:6>. You get the
picture.
Zap your old log (you better have had a backup from step one stashed
away). Import your whole log using your modified ADIF file. Never
hurts to run a CLEAN after something like this.
Let me know if you have any questions. Again, the most important
thing I can say when doing stuff like this with your log is to just
have backups.

Copy over your LISTS.DBF file.
