Paul
I would suggest a telephone call to Dennis. The number is on the HELP\ABOUT
menu. He is quite patient and I have found him helpful. Or email to
[email protected].

Subject: [Logic] create/modify report bug or my confusion?

I'm new to LOGic but chose it after trying several other products. I'm
trying
to create/modify my own reports but am quite confused. Using the help
system
(page titled, "Report Writer - Creating your own reports"), it states that I
should choose "File -> Set up Report". I don't see any such selection under
the File menu.

So I instead tried to use the following method:

1. Reports -> Modify report layout
2. Window appears with "Select report to modify, or enter name for new"
3. I type "myqsl" or "myqsl.rep", hit enter
4. Message: "This file does not exist. Create the file?"
    select 'yes'
5. Warning: "Report not found - C:/logic6/report/myqsl.rep"
    select 'ok'
6. Error: Error 13 "Alias 'REPORT' is not found" has occurred in program
WRITEREPORT.UNLOAD, line 6
    Attempt to continue?
6a: select 'yes' and nothing happens
6b: select 'no' and all windows inside LOGic 6 close. When I go to the
'Window' menu, there is only one window in the list: CREATE/MODIFY report:
MYQSL However, no such window appears in the LOGic container.

Using LOGic 6 with the 8/21/02 update. Am I missing something obvious?

Since I'm really just interested in modifying some existing reports,
choosing
an existing report appears to work OK (report-layout tool appears just
fine).
Should I use this instead and save under a different file-name?

Thanks,
Paul KB0LUR
