Macomb will be host to CoCoRaHS training on Tuesday, March 23rd at 7:00 PM. The training session will be held at the McDonough County U of I Extension Office, located at 3022 W. Jackson St. in Macomb.
Volunteers are needed in the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network (CoCoRaHS) in Illinois. CoCoRaHS is a unique, non-profit, community-based network of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds, working together to measure and map precipitation (rain, hail and snow). By using low-cost measurement tools and utilizing an interactive Website, the aim is to provide the highest quality data for natural resource,
education and research applications. The Network began in Colorado in 1998, and currently has observers in all 50 states.
Anyone can participate; young, old, and in-between. The only requirements are an enthusiasm for watching and reporting weather conditions, and a desire to learnmore about how the weather can affect and impact our lives.
Please e-mail Tim Gross at tim.gross at noaa.govto reserve a spot at the meeting as we would like to know how many to expect at the session.
