[LeArc] Phone Tree

If you were not at the meeting last night, we are trying to compile a phone tree list for use if activation is needed for public service or emergency purposes. Remember that this public service facet of the hobby is one of several reasons why amateur radio continues to enjoy relatively low licensing fees and broad spectrum available for use.

We are trying to compile a list of the following information:
Your Name
Your Callsign
Home Phone
Cell Phone
Preferred Email address

Please respond to me at kb9tma at yahoo.com if you would be willing to provide this information; obviously it's whatever you feel comfortable providing. The club officers, ESDA, the Health Department, and any other emergency entity in the public safety sector that requests a copy of the phone tree would be given this list if the club approves their request. After discussion at the meeting last night, we felt it necessary to have a contact plan in place in the event that hams are needed on relatively short notice in the future. There is not enough people monitoring the repeater (or another local frequency) to make that mode an immediate point of contact in place of phones should the need arise. We would hope that people would monitor the repeater if phones are not working properly, so that is always a secondary backup.

Thanks,

Jesse, K9JLR
