congrats on getting the antenna up.

Jesse has asked for signal reports and yes it is needed to verify that we are on the road to success. BUT keep in mind that just because you might be able to key up the repeater, is no proof you can use it reliably. By "kerchunking" the only thing you have done is prove that you can violate the rules by transmitting without identification. This does not give a true indication of signal to noise. A pure carrier with tone can bring up the repeater BUT you might not be able to be heard above the noise floor.

Again thanks to all who helped to get the primary antenna replaced. Now lets get talking on it!!!!

Rich

Please join us Sunday Night for the
Lamoine Emergency ARC Sunday Evening Net.
Net time is 8:00 PM local time.

The new antenna for the VHF repeater was installed this afternoon, and the top of the antenna is about 3-4 feet higher (app. 345 feet) than the old antenna. Due to space and tower congestion, the antenna was placed on the east side of the tower. The SWR was nearly perfect at 1:1 with 40 watts output. Mobile signal reports have been received from nearly 50 miles away. We would appreciate any additional signal reports.

Jesse, K9JLR
