Today I went to the repeater site to troubleshoot the main antenna for
the repeater. When I took the spectrum analyzer in to connect to the
antenna, I found one antenna connected to the output of the cavities,
the transmit from the repeater connected to the transmit side of the
cavities and the second antenna run through a vent hole in the cabinet
(wire mesh broken out) and connected to the recieve input of the Micor.
The original coax for the input to the cavities was still in the cabinet
and connected to the receive side of the cavities.
With the wire mesh broken out, this will allow mice to get into the
cabinet. Yes the mouse problem is much better at the site BUT there is
still new mouse poop on the top of the cabinet.
In the past ANY work done at the repeater site was recorded in the log
and identified by the person doing the work.
Can anyone shed any light on these changes?
