Greeting to all at LEARC.

I also strongly encourage that any local repeater associations
consider an active Echolink connection via a local controlling or linking
station, or even connect direct to their amateur radio repeater.

If you haven't downloaded this free novel program, do give
Echolink a try, or at least some serious thought.
.
This novel adjunct to amateur radio is especially encouraged if
the local repeater may be used for two wary communication using voice
over Internet linking during severe weather events by their servicing NWS
amateur radio team and local users..

Monitoring of repeater output by outlying stations in the path
of severe weather events is also encouraged for the obvious benefit to
your amateur radio neighbors.

When listed in the Echolink table, use the callsign of the
repeater or the linking station. An example listing in this future case
might be W9SSP with location given as
IL McDonough County Macomb LEARC Repeater 147.060

This Echolink listing format would greatly aid NWS and emergency
use by licensed amateur radio operators using Echolink. So would
reporting any future Echolink connection to the Illinois Repeater
Association and your local servicing National Weather Service office, for
their supporting amateur radio team

Hope to see or hear of your Echolink node or identification when
and if you are connected.
