OK... so I fibbed... I stopped early. Limitations of the station warrented
it. However, I didn't do too bad. Even spent about an hour actually
CALLING CQ (got about 1/3 or my contacts in this hour... maybe we should try
calling CQ in the SSB tent this year, instead of search/pounce...hmmm :)~ ).
Guess a lot of people needed Iowa. Anyway... the double bazooka was not the
greatest for what I was doing. It is actually DESIGNED to be set up as an
inverted V as opposed to a flat top... so it came down pretty quick and the
home brew went up. The results show how the take off angle of the radiation
is affected at my station. I reach the coasts rather easily, but I have a
hard time hearing the close in stuff, and I can never hear Europe or Asia,
but I can usually hear Central America. Oh well... I am only 16 states (AK
AR HI IA ID IL KY MI MN MO MT NE RI SD WI WY) away from WAS on 20 Meters SSB
:) :) :)~ Plus, I have actually managed to get 5 DX Countries with the
comprimised setup. Gotta get into a house... can set up what I want... this
is FUN!!!!!!! (even if the station does suck)
Here are the results...
