Well... one thing I have learned about this antenna... it is great for short
distance work, and that is about it...

I can hear a lot more than I can reach.  I think I am going to have to try
something else.  I tested it against my mobile rig and antenna (ICOM FT-100D
with the ATAS-100 screwdriver), and the screwdriver wins hands down.

I managed 4 contacts in 2 hours, and that was before the pileups started.  I
couldn't break one.  oh well...

The for contacts I managed were (remember, I am in Iowa City)... WE9V in
Bristol, WI.....ND8DX in Lowellville, OH.....KW8N in N Ridgeville,
OH.....and WB0SEV in Sedalia, MO.

As you can see... no record breakers... I could hear them a lot better than
they could hear me.  Oh well, back to the drawing board, I guess.
