A request for a network connection in Lincoln hall would have to go through
University Housing and Dining more than likely. They would then OK it and
get a quote from Physical plant to pull the CAT 5 cable. The average cost
in the past to have P.Plant pull CAT 5 has been around $200. It might be
more in Lincoln depending on where the hub room is located.
All in all an antenna on the small tower outside the old hyvee probably
would be cheaper. If Greg could provide a space in the engineering area of
the new WIUM location, there would be very few people around the radio.
Also heat in Lincoln hall due to no A.C. might be an issue with a computer
there. Also the room that houses the 440 is not a secure room. You might
very likely find a computer that grows feet when school is in session.
