The time for this evening's (July 18) Falcon 9 rocket launch from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. has been changed. The vehicle is now slated to lift off from south base at 8:51 p.m. PDT and carry several Starlink satellites into orbit. Eight minutes after launch, the first stage will attempt to land on a drone ship positioned down range.

Weather permitting, the event could be visible over much of the southwestern U.S. and northwestern Mexico as the rocket's exhaust is illuminated at high altitude by the Sun.
