This afternoon's (February 9) launch of a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. appears to be on schedule. The vehicle is slated to lift off from south base at 4:26 p.m. PST and carry several Starlink satellites into orbit.

Weather permitting, the first few minutes of the launch should be visible to the unaided eye from as far away as 100 statute miles. Some observers may be able to see this event from much greater distances.
