A Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled for launch Wednesday evening (September 11) from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. The vehicle is slated to lift off from south base at 7:45 p.m. PDT and carry several Starlink satellites into orbit.

If liftoff occurs early in the launch window, observers in the southwestern U.S. and northwest Mexico may see an interesting display as the rocket's exhaust is illuminated by sunlight at high altitude while suspended in a twilight or night sky.
