I have been experiencing problems with the Launch Alert mailing list server, so please forgive me if you are receiving multiple alerts over a short period of time. Let me know if you received this message.

Tonight's (September 11) launch of a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. appears to be on schedule. The vehicle is slated to lift off from south base at 11:57 p.m. PDT and carry several Starlink satellites into orbit.

Weather permitting, the event could be visible to the unaided eye for hundreds of miles for several minutes. During the first few minutes of the launch, the Falcon will produce a bright orange flame. During the later portion of the first stage burn, the vehicle's tenuous exhaust plume should appear and be visible through the entire second stage burn.
