[Launch Alert]

Thursday morning's planned launch of a Delta II rocket from Vandenberg AFB remains on schedule. The rocket is slated to liftoff from Vandenberg at 06:20:42 Pacific Time, the start of a 3-minute launch window. The Delta will carry NASA's SMAP satellite and three smaller spacecraft into orbit.

If the weather is clear, the dawn launch could be visible over a wide area.
