Seems like it could be a nice part if you have access to good quality 
glass optics.

I was able to find the manufacturer and only know the name and that 
is made in Asia.

The manufacturer is Khross Electronics.

This might be a part that is only available in Asia, not made 
available anywhere else. JRC has many products like this.

A few years ago I met a JA ham who knew his way around the web and 
the electronic surplus market. He found me some (Fuji) 
piezotransformers for 30 cents each, about 20X less than the going 
rate (if you can find them at all).
