[Laser] New 3 WATT red Luxeon released for 630 nm operation!!

Hey fellas...

I just was googling stuff for my web pages when I came across this news 
about the release of new high output Luxeons - about three times the output 
of the device we used over 170 km in Tasmania back in February. I think this 
is DEFINITELY worth a look for 630 nm transmitting purposes:

Previously, the red Luxeon has only been available in 1 watt version - this 
is a bit of a breakthrough. They haven't increased the chip size at all on 
this model (unlike the massive 5 watt), so this just means they've made it 
more intense - IDEAL for optical comms, and apparently getting better...

Sounds, interesting, anyway... Anyone managed to get one yet?
