[Laser] Fwd: optical ducting

Very common in SoCal.  For years we used to marvel at this, cities, cars,
lights, some out 40 to fifty miles.  Nothing like sitting down and looking
at the ocean, fifty miles away ond over two mountain ranges.  Best I ever
saw was from Red Box in the San Gabriel Mountains.  Usully the images are
very fuzzy, but this particular summer day I could make out the coast,
buildings and freeways.  I remember this clearly as it was also my first
date with a particular lady and we sat there watching the view for sometime
before asking me what city it was. This was summer of '91.
