Dave, Walt and all,
I will be active in the June VHF contest on 50,144,432,1296,10G,Laser.
I have not decided where to go to yet.
Any suggestions? (almost anywhere in CA/NV is fine with me)
BTW - you can stay on Diablo overnight. You need to get a campsite, and they "lock you in the park". There also is a radio club that usually operates the VHF contest from on top. W6CX I think. Also from just outside the park gate, you can see tops of the Fremont hills and maybe Loma Preita.

Hi Walt et al,
My laser rig is ready to go at a moment's notice still.
If you are going to be out for the June contest, I'll
be out there somewhere too. I want to test my new
10GHz/24GHz setup too, so it will be an ideal time
to do both.
I'm not sure about going up to the top of Diablo -
don't they close the park at sunset? Is there a spot
lower down that gets over the east foothills? I wish
I had a nice 3D map.....I did some searching on the
web once and found a few 3D things, but they were
all far too onerous to use.
Cheers for now,
Dave F.
