[Laser] Lazer/IR long range transmitter

Does anyone know of a commercial product or have plans to construct a
wireless lazer/IR transmission system for
sending video point-to-point?  I know that Sony makes the laserlink for
their digital cameras, however that is
comparatively short range <20 feet.  I am looking for something that would
work reliably over a minimum of a few hundred
feet or as far as a couple of thousand feet.  Another product would be one
which would act as a wireless ethernet link
operating at a duplex speed of 10 mb/s or faster.
