Hi All,

Does anyone know how to reach k3pgp by email? I haven't seen a post from 
him on this list for a long time now and there is no reply from his email 
address as posted on this website.

Also, I am curious regarding scatter and non line of sight and free space 
scattering laser communication.... Has anyone found wavelengths that 
support back scatter or forward scatter better than other wavelengths?? 
K3PGP told me he has tried a high power IR diode and hene, but never 
managed to get any returns from any of them....except that a qrp ~820 nm 
laser diode did allow back scatter from a reflecting layer 20 to 40 miles up.

I ask about the wavelength of scatter because I have first dibbs on some 30 
milliwatt IR diodes that are individually characterized and I would like to 
select diodes that are the proper wavelength to support scatter and back 
scatter for non line of sight experimentation. Host of the diodes are 
around 824 nm, but I can get 816 to 836 nm from this particular lot of diodes.

Any comments appreciated.
