Everyone should READ the application notes for the parts you use.
The manufacturer and original designer National Semiconductor
suggest:
Decouple power supplies
Twist power supply leads tightly
And the use of a series 0.1 mF cap and 5 ohm resistor from output
to ground. This is Required to prevent oscillation.
It may require a 1.0 cap and 2 0hm resistor in the design in the
URL as there appears to be NO suggestion of power supply decoupling.
