Bill: It also has 2 IF stages (S-38 had only 1). Interesting that the HE-30
had a section on using it for SSB in the manual, while the HE-10 did not.
These receivers were more in the HQ-100 class, not the S-38 class. Looking
over the manuals, the HE-30 used tubes that were more commonly used in the
US. Example: Audio out in the HE-10 was a 6AR5, while the HE-30 used a
