AMEN!  

I know I made several public safety users AND DEALERS mad just this past
year. I kept saying the same thing every time we were confronted with
suggestions to buy Project 25, satellite radio, MDT's and all the other
new toys of the month.  Nothing beats a good, simple radio system when
the chips are down and lives are in the balance. More complication
really means more breakdowns!

The public safety radio equivalent of our own 146.520
and 446.000, these mutual aid channels cost little to
implement, since no expensive infrastructure is
needed. Most everyone already has portable and mobile
radios. It is about time public safety users pick up
on this simple, but forgotten technique.
