Re: KC9FZP Dennis D Smith, Versailles IN. 47042
Fr: W8NSV
It is with great sorrow that I send this message to you.
Friday, 25 Nov, 2005. 11:00 AM, KC9FZP past away peacefully
in his home.
He passed away holding his baby girl in his arms and the
hand of his wife Marla. He was suffering lung cancer and
thought it was in re-session. But it reappeared and took
his life Friday Morning.
Dennis was a young man, whom enjoyed motorcycles,
and racing car's. His passion was of course in Amateur
radio, and had just moved to his new Home with his wife and
child. KC9FZP...Always gave his call over the air as KC9FZP
and would explain..."You know, like "Frank Zappa."
I enjoyed talking to him and had many a great conversation.
Although,
I never had the pleasure to meet him, KG4NMH and myself
had spoken many times with him. I don't think there was
anyone he didn't know, or didn't like? Dennis will be missed
by many. He lived in South Eastern Indiana, and was will
known by the Ripley County Indiana Amateur Radio Club as his
wife Marla, is also an amateur.
I have no further information to add, but I'm sure if you
want to contact the Ripley Co Amateur radio club, they will
be more than happy to offer further details.
CQ, CQ, KC9FZP, This is the final call on 147.285MHz,
Our hearts and prayers go out to your family.
You will be missed my friend. 73's Dennis. W8NSV.
