Perhaps my reaction was mostly just frustration at reading the same
drivel over and over and over and over.

On the other hand, I am a member of several national organizations which
rightly shun partisan politics. Of all the non-political organizations
with which I am associated, every single one EXCEPT ARRL has made a
point of avoiding grandstanding about any national or local involvement
with either party's convention -- several have issued firm guidelines
against all such politically related PR because it is nearly impossible
to do so without becoming involved in partisan politics. A few others
are trying to ensure they demonstrate neutrality by limiting
convention-related public comments to only what can be applied equally
to both conventions.

Of all the non-political organizations I know of ONLY THE LEAGUE is
grandstanding about their supposed involvement with the national
convention of a single political party.

There is no place for such political grandstanding in amateur radio and
especially no place for it in emergency communications.
