I've been lucky in District 7 to have had three counties get amateur
equipment through Homeland Security grants and am working on 3 others. This
can be done but won't get done if we haven't proved ourselves and make sure
we're part of their emergency call up and EOC. In this district we now have
four total EOC's with amateur equipment and all 9 counties use the amateur
radio fraternity as first contact responders to a point.
