Congratulations District 7 goes out to ARES District 7.

Kentucky emergency communicators receive handsome donation (Dec 7, 2004) -- The Kentucky District 7 Amateur Radio Emergency Team (KD7ARET) has received a $5000 donation from the John E. and Betty J. Meyer and Family Foundation. The donation will go toward supporting the team's efforts to provide emergency communication to served agencies in times of emergencies and disasters. ARRL Kentucky Section Manager and team member John Meyers, NB4K, says the organizations KD7ARET supports include police, fire, emergency management and the American Red Cross. The KD7ARET team includes 100 radio amateurs living within the nine-county district in Northern Kentucky. Counties include Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen, Pendleton and Scott. Meyers says part of the grant will cover the cost of reflective vests that recognize team members as emergency communicators while they're in the field. Other projects the funding may support include adding amateur gear and antennas at some counties' emergency operations centers and a mobile communications van with Amateur Radio as well as public safety communication equipment.
