One thing caught my eye at the bottom of this page...
The Commission ordered some changes in Part 97 without requesting or=20
requiring comment. "These non-substantive changes to the Amateur Service=20
rules are not subject to notice and comment under the Administrative=20
Procedure Act," the FCC said.
The FCC ordered the revision of the definition of an "amateur operator" in=
=20
=A797.3(a)(1) to reflect that it is "not the possession of a license=
document=20
but rather an entry in our Universal Licensing System (ULS) that determines=
=20
whether a person is an Amateur Radio operator."
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Federal law no longer requires us to carry our license with us, BUT, let's=
=20
think about how many local law enforcement officers are experts on Federal=
=20
law. I would suggest not letting this lure amateur radio operators into a=
=20
lax feeling about having your license, or a copy with you. You never know.
Just a thought...
Take care, 73, Pat
