[KYHAM] it was in fun

I got my first SW receiver, a new S38E when I was 9 years old, I
then built some receivers of my own, mostly regenerative ones. I then went
on to getting my novice and then general by 13 or 14 years old. And in the
9th grade built my first transmitter. Fairly high power for a beginner
then. It was 200 watts plate input power. I find very few hams building
anything now days. Some build kits but that is about it.
Is there anyone else that is interested in building full 1500 watt
or half that amplifiers anywhere near Lexington? I seem to be the only one
that likes to build amplifiers. After collecting loads of stuff for home
brew amplifiers and transmitters I find that I perhaps have too much stuff
and should start thinking about thinning it out.
I have collected numerous unfinished projects from SK estates at
hamfest over the years and have also quite a collection of power tubes,
power supply components and such.
I have even built a transmitting tube tester for tetrodes and
pentodes. It will also do triodes later but needs some more development
work to provide the higher power grid pulses required to test them.
