[KYHAM] Field day blues --- the cure

I received this email from Ed. I am forwarding it to the KY ham list for
him.

"Sorry I keep hitting the darned send button before I'm actually finished.
Anyway, I wonder if there is not some way we can utilize special events or
field day type activities for Homeland Defense exercises. To my knowledge no
one has ever specifically identified Ham radio's role in Homeland Defense.
Is this coming in the future with the grants the ARRL has been receiving. I
don't feel there is enough communication or coordination between the Feds,
states, and Ham radio. Someone enlighten me please."
