[KYHAM] Field day blues

Field day blues...

Remember when you were a kid and Christmas was only weeks away? Well prior
to this past field day I was like that. After sitting here for awhile
tonight with the headphones on listening to code tapes, my mind started to
wonder off thinking about field day. (Likely excuse for cutting the code
practice huh?) I wondered why since field day was so enjoyable, why not have
it more than once a year? I know it would not be very likely to convince
hams worldwide to add an event, but why not at the state level? For example,
a statewide field day in the fall. Using approx. the same layout. Is this
something that has been discussed in the past? Surely it is not an original
idea. I know I can't be the only ham in the state that sit and counted the
days til field day. If anyone else agrees that this may be a good idea,
voice your opinion and lets see what happens.
