The Hazard Swapfest will be this weekend at the National
Guard Armory in Hazard. There is an information sheet
and map at Http://www.qsl.net/k4avx/kmarc.html.
You may have trouble with qsl.net these days, so here
is some info.
Talkin is on the 146.06/.67 repeater in Hazard. No
tone. The Swapfest is on Sat., Nov. 15th.
The Armory is located on the north side of town, near
the Junction of KY Rt 15 from the north and south, KY Rt. 80
from the east, and the Hal Rogers/Daniel Boone Parkway to
the west.
Turn right onto Dawahare Dr. at the first stoplight after turning
west toward the Parkway at the intersection coming from Rt. 15 or
Rt. 80. (straight on from Rt.80) If you are coming on the Parkway,
turn left at the second light. Then turn up the hill where you will
next
turn left onto Armory Drive just past Reno's Rest., the
Hazard Hotel, and the flea market area.
Admission is $3 per person and $3 per inside table for the
flea market. Setup at 7 AM, with general admission at 8.
Exams are at 11 AM with ARRL VEC. Bring two id's (1 with
photo), copy of license and original, any CSCE's, and
$12 fee in correct change, if possible.
There will be an ARRL Forum at 10 AM with Jim Weaver,
K8JE, Great Lakes Division Director, and John Meyers,
NB4K, Ky. Section Manager.
Also, on Friday night, Nov. 14., at the Hampton Inn nearby
on Morton Blvd, there
will be a Southeastern Ky DX Association Forum and
Free Hospitality Suite at 6:30 PM, with Joe Pater,
W8GEW, of the recent Montserrat Expedition as the
speaker. We hope you can come and enjoy the program
and the hospitality. You do not have to be a member
to attend - all are invited. The club is a new
endeavor to get more interest in DX in the eastern
end of the state.
We hope you can attend both these events...
For a map, email me at the address above if you can't
get into qsl.net.
