I was abrupt yesterday in making my letter to the Senators. With many
e-mails and lots of suggestions and very good constructive criticism, I
would like to use the following letter sent to me by N4ALG, thanks Bill. My
heart was in the right place but my proof reader ( the wife) was at work and
I should have waited. So, here is a new addition please use it and contact
your Senator.
Just use it as a cut and paste if you'd like

Dear Senator,
I urge you to support the passage of the Amateur Radio Emergency
Communications Consistency Act and the Amateur Radio Spectrum
Protection Act.
Amateur Radio Operators (Hams) in KY provide experienced
communication services to the public. Our FCC licensed volunteers
are self-sufficient, carefully trained and well equipped to assist
federal, state or local government agencies. Some most recent
examples are the 2002 airplane crash at Bluegrass Field, and the
2003 winter ice storm in Central Kentucky.
Hams have provided thousands of person-hours supporting our
communities during disasters and times of crisis. Without the
passage of these two bills designed to protect our radio
frequencies, our services will be in jeopardy. Please support these
Acts, the future of Amateur Radio depends on the guarantees they
provide.
Thank you for all your hard work.
Sincerely,
