If you would be so kind as to enlighten the rest of us, it would be appreciated I'm sure.

Subject: [KYHAM] repeater coordination and "dead" pairs
I would like to pose a question to the group, in light of Mr. Goodpastor's
comments about his coordination difficulties. Has any one ever been
successful in an effort to "un-coordinate" an unused frequency pair?
SERA's own guidelines state that if a pair is unoccupied (by a repeater) for
a period of over six months, that the frequency is eligible for assignment
to others. Why does SERA fail to re-assign these unused frequencies to
someone who will actually install and maintain an operable repeater? I know
of one frequency near me that has been listed for at least 10 years and the
"repeater" has never been placed in service.
No wonder it is difficult to get a pair assigned with so many "paper"
repeaters around. Unfortunately they don't work very well.
