This weekend I'll hold the Radio Theory and Construction Workshop at the
University of Kentucky in Room CP163 in the Chemistry-Physics Building
from 10AM until Noon. This is the building on Rose Street just South and
across from Columbia Avenue. There will be parking available along
Funkhouser Drive and around the back of the building.
I will be getting ready for 4 hours of seminars on oscillators and filters
for the Physics faculty, graduate students and post-docs next week and have
a lot of demonstrations that may interest some of you homebrewers and QRP
enthusiast.
There will be a number of home brew crystal filters and instruments to
check them out with. Along with some oscillator circuits.
I will also have parts available for those that want to experiment with
their own filters also and I'll give you some ideas on how to make
measurements with your ham gear and home computer as well.
One demonstration has to do with taking apart a crystal and shifting
it's frequency which is necessary at times.
There will be no workshops on the second and third Saturdays in February. I
will be out of town the mornings of Feb 8 and 15th.
The next workshop will be on Feb 22, 2003 at the Red Cross Building but at
a new time. The work shop will begin at 1:00PM and continue until 3:00PM. I
hope to have some new students from our ham radio class by then ready for
kit building. This change is necessary accommodate my schedule and it
should make it easier for those that have to travel some distance to attend.
If you have any questions please email or phone 859-272-9523 in evenings or
859-272-9523 during the day.
