Everybody:
Rule 1: Make sure you are running Norton, McAfee, or
other virus detection software and make sure your
virus definitions are up to date
Rule 2: ANY email you receive warning you of a virus
should be treated as a hoax until you verify it
otherwise with Norton, McAfee, and these sites. Always
check out:

Norton and McAfee maintain an extensive online library
of both virus and hoax information and have a policy:
they NEVER send email to users advising of a virus
threat. They use a variety of other methods to get the
word out (official press releases to newsmedia, etc.).
BTW, several of these sites tell you where you can get
a replacement for the file (from Microsoft) if you
have deleted the original.
Also, the HoaxKill site has a neat service. Send them
the email (following their instructions) and they will
send a automated response identifying the hoax to
every email address in the message. This is useful for
messages that have been repeatly forwarded.
