Subject: [KYHAM] Off-Topic but Necessary

Fellow Amateurs: Just wanted to give my condolences to the families of all
of the astronauts
that perished in the tragic accident this morning in the skies above Texas.
It comes to remind us all of the danger that is involved in space travel.
Many of these astronauts give of there time and energy to amateur radio and
I think when the information comes out that at least one of the astonauts on
Columbia was a licensed ham radio operator. Let us look at this as a chance
to look forward into the future and find
better ways to get into and come back from space. The US has always been a
place that has brought triumph out of tragedy, let us use this philosophy as
a way of getting through the next few days. Amateurs have always been great
supporters for the space program and I hope
that my fellow hams will show their support here. May God bless all the
families that are affected by this tragic event. Mark Sullivan KT4BF
